Appendix numbers.

alrite every1. i am just writing to tell u about the appendx numbers for our work.

Yr write ups of the films you analysed can be: 1a, 1b, and 1c.
Ok the questionnaire is 2a,
shot list is 2b
character profile 2c
storyboard 2d
brainstorm (thoughtshower) is 2e.

ne thing i hav left out just add it to the end and tell us what number it is via the blog plz.
also can every1 bring a copy of there work in monday so we can sort it out then. cheers.

More feedback.

Arite every1. John ere. Got some more feedback for our film here our the results again.

Positives: Nice puddle reflection, slow motion papers. Mise en scene - location + costume. Nice dramatic music. innotive camerawork (if i do say so myself) lol. jacket on the stairs? variety of angles + framing. brilliant plot. Good cross cuts. jumping over fence shot is good.

Things ot work on: (here we go) Confusing narrative? (how) bad continuity. dialogue at start was unclear. gun shot plz? that was it. they were all repeated tho.

rite i will put the appendix numbers up ere soon. speak 2 u all l8r.

Feedback on film.

alrite we hav had some feedback on our film from the class. wooo. here wot they think.

Positives: Good choice of music. Good underwater shot. Good acting (well dun lads). realy interesting and unusual shots. Fast paced editing. good continuity.

Things to work on: shakey zoom, no gun shot or blood wen andy gets shot. lighting? (not sure wot they mean). No establishing shot (personally dont think we need 1). Narrative structure (i thought it was spot on again). wen az dies, music too quiet. Music peaked to soon.

We shud get sum mre feedback wen the other class watches it.

Finished....We Think

Today we finished the main bulk of the editing, we shortened all the clips as there is a lot of action and the pace had to be faster to match. We ran out of time to do the last finishing touches, which could improve our mark substancially, if we did these next week we will loose a couple of marks on our planning, but could make up more on our finished product.
What do you think we should do?
Does anything else need to be handed in before the Easter hols?

Getting There!!

Hey everyone,

We have just about finished most of our shots, the only ones left to do are the finishing shots when az comes into the house after the hitman believing he was dead. We did a lot of editing today, tidying up shots and trying to make it as seemless as possible. The plot is so much better as the storyline has a lot more depth to it. We all had to chip in and change our planning sheets, due to me thinking our original storyline was a bit timid. Hopefully we will finish editing by friday and then we will be able to burn it onto disc.

Andy have you finished the neat copy of the storyboard?

OK we need to film again.

Have been looking at the shots and they look ok but all 4 of us feel we can all do better. So we r filmin on the weekend and we r goin 2 hav some awesome footage. R rite ups r goin wel. Well mine is. Just started analysing the quesstionnaires to add on my work. Another thing. If we do memento and the fugitive do we still have to do our own. sum1 tel me b4 friday plz. lol. Andy can you do saturday nite if not we have 2 do everything on sunday. L8RS

Started Filmin' wooo!

Hello again. We started filmin at last. However we hav completely changed the plot. In other wrds we have 2 redo the plot summary and storyboard. But it is better. Az is payin ed 2 kill andy. He hands over package with a gun a picture of andy and an address for where he lives. He also says that there is one bullet use it wisely on a separate piece of paper. When this package is switching andy shoots az. Next you see ed getting dressed into his hitman clothes (bond style) and carries a knife and a Gun. He creeps into andy's house (cross cuts of andy sleeping) and they have a fight. Ed kills andy and looks through his draws. To his astonishment he finds all the same documents, same type of gun but with a picture of eds face. Az walks back into the room and ed knows that he has been set up so he attempts to shoot az. az give ed one bullet for a reason and he has used it up on andy.. And then after the attempted shot the title of the film comes up. I think it is going to be called the ultimatum. plz comment on what you think. hope it makes sense. lol.

Neway we have now done most of the outside shots and the shots with ed creepin in the house. All we need to do now is edit that in wednesdays lesson and finish shooting not this weekend (az and ed r in poland, dont miss me to much) but the weekend after that. The footage looks better on the laptop than it does on the camera which is good. Hopefully are continuity in the fight scene is spot on and we get lots of useful footage. Ne comments more than welcome. C u guys 2moz.

Planning Over (i think)

Rite 2days lesson provided some interesting debates on the fight scene. The shot list has now been completed but it is slightly different to the storyboard. Ed and Andy have been discussing what to do in the fight so andy can alter the storyboard a tad. Also we have changed are final shot. Instead of one of them falling to the floor no knowing who it is (his will now be the penultimate shot). We r now goin 2 have a flashback as the final shot of the victims head being pulled out of the water and is being screamed at. The yells say "Where is it?" OR "Where is she?" or something on those lines. Ed also wanted a script wrote out for that line which caused an argument (no cant use that word, heated debate sounds better). We also decided that saturdays filming will be all the shots which are inside the house because it will be to dark to film at nite. I wrk saturday and ed wrks sundays so we need 2 figure something out. Neway ed can u put a copy of the shot list on the blog plz so we can all c it. lol. C u all 2moz for the gaming lesson. dnt forget yr essay andy!!!!!!! lol.

Ready to film. (at last)

Right we have finished the brainstorming (thoughtshowers if u will), Character profiles and plot summary is complete. shot list is complete and we have to slightly change the the storyboard as we r now merging the fight sequence with the flashbacks. Filming this weekend round andy's house for the outside and i believe eds house for the inside. the only thing we r slightly worried bout is that i am workin in the day and there may not be enough light to film. But we will c what happens. We could still do the inside bit if it is too dark. Az ed and andy are gettin the props from town whilst i am workin such as knives rope (for interrigation) gun and a big bowl. This is so the drowning sequence we can have the camera underneath the bowl and see a cloudy picture of someones head being dunked under. However we will use quick cuts so it looks like he is still being drowned in the sink. it will look better than the plot summary sounds trust me. It will all make perfet sense lol. ne other comments plz .

hi people i need da shot list so i can edit da story board (put it on here 2moz if anyone is listen b4 den). im not gonna edit it and get wrong!!! PS dere may be a little dilemma about sum o da filmin locations, talk 2 you bout it on mon.

Near enough ready to film woo

hey its az just updating people on our situation. today in media we made real progress without actually writing more than two lines down lol!we now have a concrete storyline and we know exactly what shots we are using and what effect it will have. we have altered the storyline in that the hitman walks into an empty bedroom and then andy attacks him from the back and then we are using flashbacks, also when andy gets dunked into the water by the hitman as a threat we use a quick graphic match using the shot from the flashback of andy's character dunking a character that the hitman knew. therefore the reason why the hitman is attacking andys character is explained.sounds alright to us!comment with any opinions!

Half term progress

Allrite People. Just checkin' on how the storyboard is gettin on? I am halfway through writing up my analysis of saw 2 and Memento (By the way the whole film is immense, recomended 5 stars). What films is every1 else doin. i dunno what my next 1 can b. got ne recomendations ne1. Plz comment. lol

Progression, What Progression?

Ok john agian. mrs B sed we have 2 do the storyboard b4 the shot lists. Which i have been trying to say from the start. Otherwise you cannot get ne shots for our shot lists. So Andy if you ever go on the blog do the storyboard before the shot lists plz. Sorry about the argument 2day but we need the storyboard dun. Andy just to let you know the storyboard does not have to be perfect. We can slightly adjust it so dont worry if it does not look exacly like the film. We will most probably think of better ideas on the day.

Progression!!!

The plot is now been typed up and character profiles are done, im just working on the shots so that Andy (if he ever works out how to use a computer so that he can get on to Blogger!!) can do the storyboard!

PLOT 3rd time lucky

Hello again. Just to confirm the plot. A hitman/theif is coming to someones house with the intention to kill. cross cuts between him and the "victim" he eventually gets to house (after lots of cross cuts and breaking into house) and one of them gets shot. The audience does not know who! When someone is shot he does not fall straight to the floor and he stumbles around. At this point there are flashbacks of why he is dying (still no faces are shown to convey confusion). These flashbacks is an interrigation scene of really quick confusing brutal events. The final shot is the person who is shot falls to the floor and you still do not know who is dead. and then the titles appear. DONE!!!!

PLOT

I don't think we should go with either of the plots, we need a balance between the two! We need to talk about it in the lesson tomorrow. We need to think of what shots we want to use and come up with a better plot everyone agrees with.

Alrite. I just finished the character profile of the hitman and the target man. The hitman lives in london and the target on the outskirts. The hitman has had a rough life. He has bin to jail 4 drug possession and practically all his family is dead apart from him and his sister. The other man has a degree in law but has now entered a life of extortion workin for the crime lord.

Ne1 decided on the dream/flashback sequence with the hitman or r we gonna just use plan A.

first post wooo!

now we need help we cant decide if we should have:

a) a scene with cuts between a hitman and their victim asleep, and then they wake up and realise that someone is in their house then a final shot which doesnt reveal who dies or:

b) someone sleeping with quick cuts of their memories of an interrogation scene and other miscellaneous murders without the audience knowing if it was a memory or a dream, then he wakes up goes to the bathroom and the audience (but not the character) sees an object from the memories/dreams

plz help us decide lol!
